Injustice

I recently watched two limited series Unbelievable and When They See Us on Netflix. They were two different stories but both show how small factors can contribute to injustice.
Although this series portrayed true events that happened a few years back, these kinds of events are still happening around us. These could easily be the story of someone somewhere at present. Both the stories look completely different but they both represent the story of injustice. One thing common in both cases is that the investigators neglected the evidence in front of them. They used the narrative that suited them at the time, although in both cases, there was evidence opposing the narrative. Their negligence not only blames innocent people but allows the real culprits to go free. In both cases, the truth comes at some later point and the victims are compensated. I don’t think any amount of money is enough to compensate the victims for what they went through emotionally, mentally, socially, and physically.
When a crime occurs, the victim suffers but they don’t get justice until the real culprit is put behind bars. In my opinion, the investigators or anyone with the job to provide justice need to be held to a higher standard. Their ability or inability to do their job decides a person’s present and future. The least effort should be to collect and examine the evidence thoroughly and fairly. Doing this not only helps to put the real culprit behind bars but may also prevent any possible crimes in the future.
